So what exactly is happening here?

I’ve written a LOT of books, that’s what! Over the course of a writing career spanning 13 years (at this point), I’ve amassed a lot of fictional people, places, media entities, etc. This can make my catalog a little… unweildy. In Development 3.0 strives to make it a bit less so.

Named as a nod to my propensity to “see” stories in my head, like a movie or episode of TV, In Development works from the idea that my catalog is constantly evolving and growing… and developing. Every series, every fictional place, every main character, has very limited degrees of seperation from each other, while maintaining a unique identity.

The character index is an in-progress quick reference to help you figure out where you first saw a certain character or place. The catalog is where you can see and filter my catalog by mood, genre, etc. The timeline is a breakdown of everything I’ve written, in publication order. The series page is a quick listing of reading order and other information at the series level. Reading paths can help you work your way through my catalog. The simple book list is exactly that - a simple listing of all the books.

Like my catalog, this guide is still in progress, so some of my Jonesy historians, you might see mistakes! If you feel inclined, make a note of them, and when you see me put the call out asking for feedback, your notes will be appreciated!

Speaking of appreciation, I have to end on this note - this guide would not be possible without the help and dedication of my friend Nicole Falls, who built the very very very first CCJ reference guide, back in 2018! From there, my longtime CCJ beta-friends (LeShonda, Carolyn, Roslyn, Doris, Brittany, Courtney, April) put time and energy into updating with newer books, pulling the data that was used for the very first iteration of In Development, which was a simple word document. From there, Jhen helped me build In Development 2.0, the clickable PDF most people are familiar with. And now, she and Anastasia have put countless hours into helping pull that data into the spreadsheets that form the backbone of In Development 3.0, which is what you’re seeing now.

And here we are! Happy digging! -xo, CCJ.
